Its county seat is Clayton, a thriving business district known for housing wealthy, young professionals and one of the top universities in the nation: Washington University. One of the most historical neighborhoods in Central St. Louis is Dogtown, a traditionally Irish neighborhood known for being the center of the St. Patrick’s Day parade and festivities. It’s a neighbor to Forest Park, bordered by Hampton, Oakland and Manchester for quick access to the St. Louis Zoo, Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. Louis University.
